iQSports Weekly Development Update

Special teams modernization continues alongside roster, opponent, profile, and game-result improvements.

This week delivered a combination of user-reported fixes, roster management improvements, and continued development of one of the platform's most ambitious long-term initiatives: the Special Teams overhaul.

Continued Progress on Special Teams Modernization

The long-term Special Teams Rework continued with testing around two-point conversions, kickoff sequencing, result handling, and play-outcome attribution.

Additional opportunities were identified to improve individual-player credit on successful conversions. The larger objective is to give special teams the same analytical depth and flexibility available in offensive and defensive workflows.

  • Two-point conversion tracking
  • Kickoff sequencing after conversion attempts
  • Special teams result handling
  • Player and play-outcome attribution

OpponentsResolved

Opponent Creation Restored

A user-reported issue prevented schools from creating new opponent records even when only required information was entered. The problem was corrected, restoring schedule and opponent-database management.

Reliable opponent records provide the organizational foundation for scouting databases, future opponent analysis, and game-week preparation.

Profile Picture Updates Restored

Schools could no longer update profile pictures from the organization dashboard. The issue was corrected so administrators can once again manage school imagery across dashboards, reports, and public-facing areas.

More Complete Offensive Outcomes

Testing of the play-graphics system revealed that several important outcomes were missing from offensive result options. The expanded list now captures more real-world game events without requiring workarounds.

More complete categorization improves scoring consistency, player statistics, game breakdown, and play-calling analysis.

  • Pick-sixes
  • Defensive scores following offensive turnovers
  • Scoop-and-score scenarios

RostersResolved

Player Creation and Roster Management

Errors were preventing new athletes from being added whether users completed every field or only the required information. The issue was investigated and corrected.

Accurate rosters support live play tracking, game management, reporting, scouting, and long-term athlete development throughout the platform.

Reducing Friction in Everyday Workflows

This week's opponent, player, profile, special-teams, and result-tracking work makes the system more dependable for coaches and administrators during routine use.

Small workflow improvements can have a large day-to-day impact when staffs are entering game data, reviewing reports, or preparing for an opponent.
